Disgusting slum apartments
If you’re seeing the prices and considering your new home then look far from here. You are much better off paying an extra 120-150 to live elsewhere.
My first one bed unit was well maintained and clean upon move in. I stayed in it for about 7-8 months before transferring to a new unit. Well guess what? I had 24 hours to move, had to cancel my movers bc they moved the date multiple times and failed to communicate that the unit I was moving to had AN ACTIVE INFESTATION. Not just 1-2 roaches here... and there, you could count 5-6 nearly daily. This lasted for about 2-3 months before we got to a semi livable state which was in the colder months. Eventually we thought we had beat the infestation then we noticed our neighbors had moved and we started seeing them reappear in our unit. Not just babies but fully grown adults.
On top of the roach issue that seems to be present at nearly every building, there is no proper pest control. Just a ragtag team of maintenance guys not paid enough to deal with it.
I also had a pigeon in my attic, and called in for assistance with getting it out and that turned into a 30 minute show of two guys throwing screws and coins at a pigeon in my attic. Additionally a mess was made from the drywall bits that fell.
This unit also has poor insulation, the door has a mediocre seal on it, windows are missing or have broken screens, and the maintenance guys installed new appliances over the 100s of dead roaches.
Please for the love of god if you consider this place, demand to walk the unit you’re buying. Do not take a chance and let them expedite putting you into a unit until they let you pull the fridge back or look under the stove or washer/dryer. Can almost guarantee you’ll find roaches or mold.
Oh and to add with how poor the insulation is you’ll be paying up the saved money to OEC from your AC constantly needing to blast bc it cant stay above 70 unless its 50 degrees or lower outside.
