If you’re considering moving into this building, here’s what I wish I had known beforehand. Even on the highest floor, if your unit faces the front of the building, you will hear everything.. and I truly mean everything. Trash days eliminate any need for an alarm clock because the noise is unavoidable. Windows aren’t sound proof at all.
There are unnecessary, mandatory fees, such as the trash concierge service (which you’ll hear throughout the hallways late in the evening), despite there being... trash chutes on every floor(which are often overflowing even with this “mandatory” system). Management could easily make this service optional since they provide a specific trash bin for it, making it simple to identify who opts in or out. I was told I would have the option to opt out, then when I followed up I was told I couldn’t. Resident leave their foul smelling garbage in the hallway even if they are arms reach away from the trash chute. But hey who can blame them when they’re being charged, right?
There have also been security concerns in the building. Management instructs residents to contact the “courtesy officers,” but I as well as neighbors have tried calling the provided number and haven’t received any response. I even had someone in the leasing office call the number and they also didn’t get a response. Random people enter the building and most recently one entered the car garage and broke into vehicles.
The package room isn’t as secure as it should be. Anyone with key fob can go in. Packages are stolen all the time.
The same gym equipment was broken for over a year (most of my lease term). The walls are extremely thin, and I can hear my downstairs neighbor coughing. There isn’t a single day you won’t hear dogs barking somewhere in the building.
Also THE INTERNET there have been several internet outages during the work week making it very inconvenient when working from home.
When I first moved in, the apartment had not been properly cleaned. There was construction debris and nails left throughout the unit, including on the balcony, in drawers, and on the windowsill.
While the management company and front office are pleasant during the leasing process, they become petty and unhelpful once you actually need assistance.
