Inspire

Pros:
The buildings were constructed at the beginning of the "new build" era for modern apartments with amenities. So while the appliances need to be updated and the finishings show wear, the footprints are larger than a lot of new builds. Plenty of storage. And there is less noise in my unit from neighbors than any other apartment I have rented in years. I've also met a few nice people! Location is great for access to lakes, but the neighborhood is in a bit of strange transition.

Maintenance... is helpful and has addressed items submitted through the ticketing system, even if instances have required me to follow up with management due to poor coordination.

Cons:
Deliveries are a consistent nightmare. Property management could resolve things with larger organizations (such as Amazon) directly, but it appears using a vendor *we* tenants pay for to assist in deliveries is the easier solution. Very annoying for grocery and other "realtime" deliveries. Things are consistently brought to the wrong building, even though the buildings have their own specific addresses.

The pool is still not open at the east building on 7/23/2026. The summer is almost half over. And the rationale that we can all just walk to another building to use their pool is lazy and unacceptable. We're paying the bills, you should administer. Simple.

The bedroom in my unit has an unsightly stain in the middle of the room. I was told prior to move in they would only replace the carpet if it was beyond "normal wear and tear." I guess according to Weidner property management, having it look like someone defecated on the floor of your bedroom is "normal wear and tear." I disagree and now need a rug on my carpet (to trip over) to avoid unnecessary embarrassment.

When touring, if you notice the lobby and shared spaces in the "center" building are clean and nice, it may be because management has their offices there. The stairwells in the east building need some serious attention. Cleaning, paint, fixture repairs. Having to use the doors is gross. The garage smells like it hasn't been cleaned in years. There is no ventilation in the upper floor hallways, so it usually smells like marijuana, filth, or garbage. Not sure why a simple exhaust fan can't be implemented.

Overall:
If you're looking for a budget-friendlier option to nicer or newer buildings, this is something to consider. Keep in mind, even with what feels like high rent these days, you'll still get what you pay for comparably. Read More

Constant shootings and large parties almost every weekend. Work orders are closed with no action. Increasing fees added to rent each year. Most amenities are never open or in a poor state of repair.

Avoid greystar they take your $$ and run!

Not generally a fan of getting shot at, for one. Add to that horrendous rent rates, utilities charged at 3x what the city is charging, requiring to use a commercial trash account, and we have told everyone we could to avoid Elan, and all Greystar properties, in the future.

Great amenities. As long as the pool’s not closed because of outside guest partying with glass ruining it for all residents.

I feel right at home at Elan Uptown. The management is excellent & always supportive when needed. The location is walking distance or a close drive to many great restaurants & hiking areas. Me & my pup love it here!
