Southwind at Silverlake

My husband and I have lived here a few year,but had to move because my husband lost his job. I want to speak about the staff here. My husband lost his job and we couldn't buy our 2 little girls anything,I was very upset as a mom. Mrs Crystal called to ask about a balance we owed. Upset I let her have it, I yelled at her because I was hurting. I explained that I couldn't even buy my kids Christmas and you want me to pay. She told me it would be ok and let me vent. A few days later she called me… to the office, the office staff took up a collection and brought my kids some toys. Talk about going that extra mile. These people only knew of me being a resident, and they opened up their hearts for my family Tasha,Claire Crystal and Tammy are god sent . I'm not going to say we where perfect because we were late alot. The manager worked with us alot and I'm for ever thankful to them. I wish we could have stayed there. Maybe one day we will get to go back. But I will never forget what these people did for me. There are good people in this world and southwind has a few of there. I've been living here since 2011, and I can say only good things. I like the staff in the office they are always willing to help. Tammie the manager is very nice always have a open door policy. Crystal the assistant is very nice as well. I couldn't imagine someone wanting to threaten them. I think people forget they can only do one thing at a time. The outside team is very good at what they do. Salvador knows what he is doing. I have seen the office staff change but that because they get… promotions, doing bigger and better things. You can't get mad at that. I like being able to go in the office and drink my coffee and check on everyone. When I was sick these people treated me like family, checking on making sure I was ok. My husband and I lived here for the past two years. It’s a older place that has been renovated inside the units nicely. When we originally moved in the as usual the leasing office was great. Helpful and maintenance did requests in a timely manner. Now you have to threaten the managers (Crystal and some other lady you barely will see) to call you. The leasing agents turnover is high here. Only the managers remain. Every time I turn around there is a new person. Maintenance now takes up to weeks… to just changed a light bulb. The worst issue was the neighbors which is no fault of the leasing office but I wish they would have done more. They would stack trash outside of their apartment like it was a dumpster. I've lived here for over 1.5 years and it has been a great! A nice quiet complex with a great staff! No complaints other than the rent has gone up significantly since I've moved in ($150) and have chosen to leave due to comparative prices at other complexes. Maintenance was always quick to respond (within a day or so) and grounds were kept tidy. Great for families or single dwellers.
