Worst move-in experience ever; beware: THEY WILL SCAM YOU!
The only reason I’m giving 1 stars (instead of 0) is because the concierge and maintenance staff are wonderful, kind, responsive and genuinely helpful. Unfortunately, the apartment itself and leasing are the real problem.
The unit I was shown on my tour was much nicer than what I actually received, and this was never disclosed. The kitchen appliances look like they came straight from a junkyard, scratched, stained, broken, and barely functional. I would have paid more for a better unit, but I... was never given that option when signing our lease.
I didn’t expect brand new appliances, but I did expect them to match the quality of what I saw on the tour. On top of that, half the rooms in my unit don’t even have blinds. The tour unit did, but I was told blinds and appliances are “luck of the draw” only after moving in, and that I could pay extra for custom blinds. Why would I pay out of pocket to add value to a unit I don’t own, especially when the expectation was set during the sales process that I would receive those blinds?
Move-in was also tricky. We rented extra storage, but the leasing office couldn’t clearly tell us where it was located. We had movers on a tight timeline, and the lack of clarity wasted valuable time (again, the concierge was the only person who was quick to help us here). And there was someone on the team parked in our spot when we arrived on move-in day. I could overlook those mistakes if the apartment itself wasn’t so crappy.
Bottom line: the non-remodeled units are dated (they look like the apartments I rented in college, like eight years ago, but with worse appliances), and the remodeled units are TINY. And if you lease here, it looks like your risk having a kitchen with appliances that barely work (our oven does not get hot, the fridge is too cold and iced our food and ruined my insulin, and the microwave and dishwasher are literally falling apart.) There are far better and more updated options in Milwaukee at similar price points. I regret signing here and am already accelerating my home-buying search.
