Honestly, this is a great community. My kids are able to play outside with the other children, and I do not have to worry about anything crazy other than them falling on their own accord. I love that we have police who also live within the complex.

Not A Standard of Living

Cortland Lake Lotus did not match the experience that was advertised to us. During our tenancy, we experienced recurring gate and access-control issues, concerns involving entry to our apartment, an attempted entry captured by our Ring camera, property maintenance problems, and the theft of our vehicle from the parking lot. We also frequently noticed dog waste throughout the community grounds.

These experiences significantly affected our sense of safety, privacy, and overall comfort.… Communication with the on-site office was also frustrating. Calls were often routed to a corporate call center, and the call center staff frequently seemed unable to reach anyone in the leasing office. Based on our personal experience, we would not recommend this community.

Regarding the reported attempted entry, although we are unable to confirm the details from the time of the incident, we welcome the opportunity to review any concerns that are brought to our attention so we can address them appropriately and in accordance with our community policies.

We also understand your concerns regarding pet waste within the community. Our team regularly communicates reminders to residents about responsible pet ownership and proper waste disposal. When violations are identified, we take steps to hold the responsible parties accountable in an effort to maintain a clean and enjoyable environment for all residents. We are sorry to hear that your communication experience did not meet your expectations. To better support residents, our management group has multiple departments available to assist with questions and concerns, helping ensure that no call or request goes unanswered and that residents receive timely support when assistance is needed.

Regarding criminal activity, while unfortunate incidents can occur in any community, we encourage residents to report concerns immediately to local law enforcement. Our lease requires this partnership so that authorities, along with our on-site courtesy officers and management team, can provide assistance as quickly as possible and in full compliance with applicable procedures.

We appreciate the time you spent as a resident of our community and regret that your experience did not reflect the high standard we strive to provide. Thank you for your residency, and we sincerely wish you all the best and much happiness in your new home.

Overall living here has been very good for the last 2 1/2 years. No place is perfect and more of the main issues are with some of the tenants more so then the property itself, but the team does a very good job of addressing concerns and doing their best to take care of things throughout the community. They are the main reason for the positive review from me. The property itself being a little older has some challenges but nothing so horrible to make living here unpleasant. I would just say keep… up the good work....
